WAYS OF USING RESEARCH METHODS IN MATHEMATICS TEACHING BASED ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF STUDENTS’ COGNITIVE ACTIVITIES
Abstract. The ways of using the research method based on the characteristics of students’ cognitive activity are investigated. Experiments show that students’ cognitive activity develops and their attention is activated when they are given research-based questions and tasks. The teacher directs students to research the solution to research-based problems in a planned way, with guiding questions.The article discusses the research method applied in the classroom process, analyzes its goals and objectives. The application of research methods based on the characteristics of the cognitive activity of young schoolchildren in the classroom process is investigated. Students’ learning activity varies depending on the applied method, according to its nature. Learning activity can be associated with students’ activity and independent creative research in the process of acquiring knowledge. Developing research skills in students is one of the main tasks facing primary education. Mathematics plays a special role in developing these skills.
