A THEROTICAL AND EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF GENDER EXPERTISE OF SOME SECONDARY SCHOOL TEXTBOOKS
Abstract. The article deals with the issue of promoting gender equality in textbooks and gender problems. It is noted that while textbooks are not the only learning resource, they have considerable influence given that they are at the center of the curriculum, educational policy and practice, theory and practice, government documents, as well as private initiatives. In the textbooks applied in the educational system of Azerbaijan, along with a number of positive cases, there are moments where gender inequality is observed in tasks and images that promote various gender stereotypes. It is noted in the article that from this point of view, the development of gender equality in high school textbooks will help to eliminate the problems in a number of areas in the education and training system.
