SPECIAL EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES

Abstract. The article discusses the main principles of special education for children with disabilities – its state character, unity, and the compulsory nature of education. It is noted that an inclusive educational environment is characterized by a system of values concerning any child's education, upbringing, and personal development, as well as a set of resources (funds, internal and external conditions) for organizing their education in general education institutions, directed toward meeting students' individual educational needs. This means the organization of special education institutions within the general education system with a unified starting point that ensures the general preparation goals for children with disabilities. The ability of individuals with disabilities and children with limited health capacities to acquire various professions and enter the labor market or ensure their self-employment is a crucial element of social integration. The article also reflects on the reforms carried out in special education in the Republic of Azerbaijan. It highlights the importance of educating children with physical, mental disabilities, or impairments by special professionals.
