EVALUATION OF CURRICULUM QUALITY AND ITS INTERNATIONAL ALIGNMENT

Abstract. This article provides a comparative analysis of the quality of curricula and their alignment with international standards based on the experiences of various countries. The main objective of the study is to determine the level of alignment between Azerbaijan’s general education curriculum and international educational standards, to identify existing challenges, and to define directions for improvement. Within the framework of the research, the impact of the curriculum on the development of knowledge, skills, and competencies, its responsiveness to labor market demands, the implementation of interdisciplinary integration, the balance between theoretical and practical components, the integration of social justice and inclusivity principles, as well as quality assurance and monitoring mechanisms are analyzed. The responses of the participants indicate that modern curriculum models are oriented toward digitalization, experiential learning, and the development of global competencies. The article compares Azerbaijan’s curriculum with international practices, identifies its strengths and areas requiring improvement, and presents scientifically grounded recommendations for organizing curricula in a more flexible, practice-oriented manner aligned with global trends.
