SUCCESSOR OF IRAVAN TEACHERS’ SEMINARY - IRAVAN TURKISH PEDAGOGICAL TECHNICAL SCHOOL

Abstract. In the article, the activities of the Iravan Turkish Pedagogical Technical College, which was the successor of the Iravan Teachers’ Seminary, in the years 1924–1948 were involved in the research. The reasons for the establishment of this educational institution are determined, and the services of Azerbaijani intellectuals in the effective operation of the technical school are revealed. The essence of Armenian chauvinism, which hinders the effective functioning of the Technical College, has been explained. It is noted that in 1918–20, more than 300 Azerbaijani villages were destroyed by Armenian nationalists, tens of thousands of civilians were massacred, and many centers of culture and education belonging to the Azerbaijani people were destroyed. The article also found a wide scientific-pedagogical analysis of the exceptional services of the Iravan Turkish Pedagogical Technical College in the training of Azerbaijani teachers.
