THE ROLE OF EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES IN THE SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract: The article discusses the importance of extracurricular practical ac tivities, which are connected to the curriculum yet organized outside regular class hours, in the social, emotional, physical, psychological, intellectual, and creative development of primary school students. In the rapidly evolving 21st century, the study explores how these extracurricular activities primarily affect students’ self-awareness, worldview, speech development, and the cultivation of real-life skills, while also examining their potential benefits for children’s men tal, physical, psychological, social, creative, and academic growth.The article notes that extracurricular activities not only foster teamwork, communication, and leadership skills among primary school students but also promote academic success by enhancing time management and organizational skills, increasing a sense of responsibility, and improving overall attitudes toward learning. Another point analyzed is how implementing this methodology can become one of the successful factors contributing to a student’s future educational outcomes and comprehensive development.
