THE ROLE OF EXCURSIONS IN THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS
Abstract. The article comprehensively explores the role of excursions as an es sential and integral part of the teaching and educational process at the primary education level. It scientifically analyzes the impact of excursions on reinforcing students’ theoretical knowledge through practical observation, enhancing their cognitive activity, and developing skills in understanding the surrounding world, observation, and applying knowledge. Using excursions to the Gobustan State Historical and Artistic Reserve and other historical-memorial sites as examples, the study examines how such activities contribute to instilling national and mor al values, fostering patriotism, and shaping students’ social communication and collective behavior skills. Based on the author’s teaching experience, the arti cle substantiates the importance of these activities in the context of interdisci plinary integration, their role in improving the quality of education through the use of interactive teaching methods, and their overall pedagogical significance in shaping students as individuals. Additionally, the article highlights the edu cational and developmental potential of excursions and offers methodological recommendations for organizing them within the framework of the curriculum.
