THE DEVELOPMENT HISTORY OF CHILDREN’S PRESS IN AZERBAIJAN
Annotation. The study examines children’s press not merely as an infor mative medium but as a strategic field with psychological, pedagogical, and cultural significance, exploring its influence on children’s intellec tual, emotional, and social development. The analysis demonstrates that children’s periodicals are not only tools for information dissemination but also play a fundamental educational role in shaping a child’s perso nality, enriching their worldview, and fostering national and moral valu es. Instilling a love of reading from an early age, developing analytical and creative thinking skills, and cultivating healthy communication with the surrounding environment constitute the core objectives of children’s media. The article provides a comprehensive examination of Azerbaija ni children’s press, which emerged during the Enlightenment period and possesses deep historical roots. It also analyzes the realities of the 21st century—characterized by rapid technological development and the do minance of digital platforms—which require a re-evaluation of both the content and format of children’s press.
