THE ROLE OF MILITARY PRESS IN THE INFORMATION WARFARE

Abstract. This article examines the role of military press in modern information warfare, based on the experience of Azerbaijan. The study analyzes the functions of the Azerbaijani military press during the 2020 Patriotic War, including information policy, social media strategies, and international communication activities. It has been determined that a professional and well-coordinated military information policy ensured superiority not only on the battlefield but also in the information space. At the same time, the study reviews the existing structural and personnel issues in the field and proposes recommendations for their resolution. The research substantiates the importance of the military press as a tool of strategic communication from both theoretical and practical perspectives. The article also discusses the growing role of digital media, social networks, and communication tools in cyberspace within the broader information environment. The paper also analyzes the current challenges in the field of military press—such as the shortage of specialized personnel, digital security risks, and coordination gaps—and proposes prospective directions for strengthening and developing this sphere.
