OPTIMAL TEACHING OF “VISUAL ARTS” MATERIALS AS AN IMPORTANT MEANS OF ACQUIRING MORAL AND SPIRITUAL VALUES

Abstract. The article examines the role of visual arts education in the formation of moral and spiritual values among primary school students. It is emphasized that visual arts contribute not only to the development of aesthetic taste and creative abilities but also to the cultivation of patriotism, diligence, responsibility, empathy, tolerance, and national-moral values. The study analyzes different types of visual arts, their educational potential, and the ways they can be effectively implemented according to the age characteristics of learners. The research highlights that the study of national cultural heritage, folk art, works of prominent artists, and nature-related themes in visual arts lessons positively influences the spiritual and moral development of students. Practical examples presented for different grade levels demonstrate that observation, interpretation, and creative engagement with artworks broaden students’ aesthetic outlook and support the development of their moral and spiritual qualities. In conclusion, the purposeful and systematic teaching of visual arts makes a significant contribution to the comprehensive development of primary school students, fostering respect for national and universal values while enhancing their creative and social competencies.
