CONSIDERATION OF STUDENTS’ AGE AND INDIVIDUAL CHARACTERISTICS IN THE ORGANIZATION OF INDEPENDENT WORK IN PRIMARY GRADES

Abstract. The study examines the theoretical and pedagogical foundations of organizing independent work in primary school classes and analyzes the effects of pupils’ age and individual characteristics on the teaching and learning process. It is noted that the effective organization of independent work plays an important role in the development of cognitive activity, independent thinking skills, and learning motivation among primary school-aged children, while their psychological and cognitive developmental characteristics, instability of attention, concrete-imaginative thinking, emotional sensitivity, and preference for play activities directly affect the content, form, and organization of independent work. At the same time, the application of differentiated and individualized tasks, the use of visual aids and game elements, and the teacher’s guiding role are substantiated as the main factors enhancing the effectiveness of independent work. The findings of the study demonstrate that independent work planned in accordance with pupils’ level of development has a positive impact on the development of their sense of responsibility, creative thinking, self-monitoring skills, and interest in learning. The application of these scientific and practical approaches, which contribute to improving the quality of the teaching and learning process, is considered appropriate in the pedagogical practice of primary school teachers.
