INTERNET MEDIA AND INFORMATION SECURITY ISSUES IN AZERBAIJAN
Abstract. This research is devoted to examining the problems of internet media and information security in Azerbaijan. In the context of globaliza tion, ensuring information security and cybersecurity at both national and international levels constitutes the central theme of the study. It is empha sized that the primary goal in this field is the protection of the interests of individuals, society, and the state. In recent years, technologically com plex and multidimensional attacks targeting Azerbaijan’s information space—including the information resources and infrastructures owned by state bodies, private and non-governmental organizations, as well as indi viduals—have been expanding. These attacks also affect the lifecycle of data stored in these resources, the material and non-material objects used in related processes, and the interconnections among them. The study analyzes the purposeful measures carried out in Azerbaijan following the restoration of independence, focusing on the protection of state sover eignty in cyberspace, safeguarding national interests, improving a unified state policy on information security, and developing the technological infrastructure components necessary for ensuring information security.
