ENSURING EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION: THE IMPORTANCE OF LISTENING COMPREHENSION
Abstract. Listening comprehension forms the foundation of both academic and personal success. The article analyzes the growing demand for listening comprehension skills in education and their impact on students’ development in a broad context. It is emphasized that listening comprehension is not limited to the reception of information, but also fosters communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The article highlights the importance of developing these competencies from an early age. In preschool and primary school settings, this ability is enhanced through stories, games, discussions, and group work. During adolescence, listening is further deepened through the integration of critical and analytical thinking. The article also underscores the sig nificant role of technology in advancing listening comprehension skills. Audiobooks, multimedia content, and digital resources are presented as effective tools for strengthening this competence. The discussion focus es on the role of listening comprehension in the educational process, its impact on learners’ development, and the methods applied in modern educational approaches to reinforce this skill.
